This ongoing program is a reinstatement of a successful program

started by Opera Camerata in 1999. It is completely funded by patrons

of the Opera Camerata under the leadership of

Executive Director Michael Reilly and President of the Board of Directors, Randall Roe.  The goal of the In-school program will be an

acquired appreciation of the classical vocal arts which would

otherwise be unavailable to them.

The Opera Camerata of Washington has been a cultural landmark

in the Nation’s Capital since its founding in 1990 and has presented operatic

rarities in many venues including more than a dozen embassies.  The Company’s

In-school Program is dedicated to the operatic/classical music education

of Washington’s public/private school youngsters and is offered

completely without charge as a public service to the city’s school system.

The Artistic Director of the Opera Camerata of Washington is

Maestro Gregory Buchalter, also an assistant conductor at the

Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
