Who: The
Opera Camerata of Washington’s In-School Program
and Bell Multicultural
Middle School
What: An
interactive learning experience.
Students
will be prepared by the operatic
performers/instructors
for the singing of the final chorus
of
Donizetti’s comic opera The Elixir of
Love.
This
live in-school performance will be narrated
by
of
Dorsey & Whitney, and sung by international operatic favorites,
José
Sacín, Pablo Henrich, Adriana Balzán, and
Félix
Fernández-Pizzi,
accompanied
by pianist Heather Adelsberger.

This
ongoing program is a reinstatement of a successful program
started
by Opera Camerata in 1999. It is completely funded by patrons
of
the Opera Camerata under the leadership of
Executive
Director Michael Reilly and President of the Board of Directors, Randall Roe.
The
goal of the In-school program will be an
acquired
appreciation of the classical vocal arts which would
otherwise
be unavailable to them.
The Opera Camerata of Washington has been a
cultural landmark
in the Nation’s Capital since its founding in 1990
and has presented operatic
rarities in many venues including more than a dozen
embassies. The Company’s
In-school Program is dedicated to the
operatic/classical music education
of
